“The 4th of July holiday is one of the deadliest driving holidays in the United States,” according to a recent autoinsurance.org article.

Over 450 people die in car accidents each holiday season. Our Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler and surrounding area Car Accident Lawyers are here on holidays and weekends.

The most deadly hours of the night are from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., when drunk drivers are most likely to be on the road.

Drunk driving is particularly dangerous during the holidays because of the increased number of people on the road.

We’re hoping this will drive home the point that having fun shouldn’t come at the expense of safety and responsibility.

“193 persons were arrested for DUI over the Fourth of July weekend,” according to the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (July 3 through July 5).

Over the holiday weekend in 2019, there were 512 DUI arrests, more than twice as many as in 2020.

In 2020, 51 people were arrested for extreme DUI, meaning their blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was greater than or equal to.15%.

Arizona’s legal limit is an alcohol concentration of.08%.

There were 141 extreme DUI arrests in 2019, which is more than twice as many as in 2020.

2.    If you are at someone’s home and cannot arrange for a ride home, see if you are able to spend the night.

3.    If you are alone, don’t drink any alcoholic beverages.
